Former Syracuse football free safety Anthony Smith has agreed to terms with the Tennessee Titans. Smith was originally a third-round draft pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2006, and has played 63 career games with four teams during his career, including Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Jacksonville and Green Bay. He spent the 2010 season with Jacksonville and Green Bay before ending the season on injured reserve.
In his six seasons in the National Football League, Smith has registered 165 tackles, including 132 solo efforts, and seven interceptions.
Smith was a three year starter during his career with the Orange, totaling 293 tackles and 14 interceptions. He ranks third on SU's all-time tackles by a defensive back record list, and is the program's all-time leader in blocked kicks in a career (6) and in a season (3).
Smith joins former SU guard Ryan Durand in Tennessee. Durand is entering his third season with the Titans after being drafted in the seventh round of the 2009 NFL Draft.
