As the NFL Draft comes to a close, a number of Orange stars are expected to sign free agent contracts to continue their careers in the National Football League.
Twelve players were drafted/signed last year following Head Coach Fran Brown's first season at Syracuse - the most successfull draft weekend for the program in two decades. Syracuse enterd the weekend with 18 players in the league.
Here's who's signed thus far in 2026 (Note: All signings are reported until confirmed by the franchise):
Jack Stonehouse - Houston Texans
Stonehouse is the most productive punter in program history – a program that has multiple punters drafted in the last-15 years. He'll now continue his playing career with the Houston Texans after signing as a free agent, according to his agent.Â
A three-time All-ACC selection, he ended his career as Syracuse's net punting record holder (45.8), and has three of the top-four net punting seasons - including the top-two - in school history.
Kevin Jobity Jr. – Pittsburgh Steelers
Defensive lineman Kevin Jobity Jr. has signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Jobity appeared in 38 games with 17 starts at Syracuse.
He was most productive in 2025, making 5.0 sacks on the season, which led the team.
Dion Wilson Jr. – Baltimore Ravens
Defensive lineman Dion Wilson Jr. has signed with the Baltimore Ravens.
Wilson played in every game last season with 11 starts. He transferred to Syracuse ahead of the 2024 season after spending three seasons at Arizona and one at New Mexico State. Wilson had 104 tackles, 8.0 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks, a forced fumble and three pass breakup in 51 games across the three schools.Â
Dan Villari – Los Angeles Rams
Dan Villari has signed a free agent contract with the Los Angeles Rams.
Villari appeared in 44 games with 19 starts in his Orange career. He took over the starting tight end role this past season after Oronde Gadsden II was selected by the Chargers in the 2025 NFL Draft.
A transfer from Michigan, Villari hauled in 66 passes for 671 yards and three scores at 'Cuse. A versatile weapon, Villari also had 93 carries for 445 yards and four touchdowns, and completed 24-of-36 passes for 203 yards and a touchdown.
Duce Chestnut – San Francisco 49ers
Duce Chestnut has received a rookie minicamp invite from the San Francisco 49ers.
Chestnut, who tallied nearly 200 tackles in an Orange uniform, was a two-time All-ACC selection with the Orange. He made 199 tackles, six interceptions, 8.0 tackles for loss, 17 pass breakups and forced two fumbles in his college career.
