Melo, Brazil to Compete in Consolation Bracket at World University Games

SHENZHEN, China – Sophomore center Fab Melo and the 2011 Brazilian World University Games team finished 3-2 in group stages and will compete in the consolation bracket.
Melo started all five games in preliminary action while averaging 7.2 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. He tied for a team-high 13 points in a 61-53 loss to Germany.
Brazil placed fourth in Group A and will contend for places 9-16. Melo will lead Brazil against Turkey on Saturday.
