SYRACUSE, NY – Syracuse and Marshall will meet for the first time in more than 60 years when the Orange and Thundering Herd square off on Tuesday, December 6, in the Carrier Dome.

The two programs last met on the hardwood in 1947-48 and Marshall was a 46-44 winner.

Coach Tom Herrion guided the Herd to a 22-12 record and a berth in the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament. Herrion owned previous Division I head coaching experience at the College of Charleston. He was an assistant at Pittsburgh under Jamie Dixon when he accepted the position at Marshall.

Marshall features senior guard Damier Pitts (16.2 ppg.) and sophomore guard DeAndre Kane (15.1 ppg.).
