SU Fans: Important Parking Detail for Opener vs. Wake
8/30/2011 10:52:28 PM | Football
All fans attending the 2011 Syracuse football season-opener in the Carrier Dome against Wake Forest on Thursday, September i1 (8:00 p.m., ESPN3) are encouraged to arrive early for the game to avoid traffic delays and large lines at the Dome entrances and to use the 'Print at Home' option to avoid long lines at the Box Office. The Carrier Dome will open at 6:30 p.m.
Fans should take note of these three important parking changes:
All day-of-game parking is at Skytop, unless the patron already has a parking pass for main or west campus.
Parking at Skytop is $12 and includes a shuttle to and from College Place on the east side of the campus. Shuttle bus service will start running at 12:30 pm. Shuttle bus service to Gate A for patrons with disabilities will start running from Skytop at 5:00 pm.
As SU faculty and staff will be exiting main and west campus parking at the end of their work day, patrons with parking passes for those areas should not arrive until after 5:00 pm to avoid congestion.
Except for team and staff busses, no busses will be allowed in the West Campus area – all busses must park at Skytop. Bus parking is $40.
Temporary campus construction will affect getting to the Carrier Dome.
A project to improve the area between Archbold and Physics started in late August. The project will affect pedestrian traffic for the Wake Forest, Rhode Island and Toledo football games. Fans parking or coming from the east side of campus will be detoured around the north side of Physics or the south side of Bowne, Carnegie and Archbold.
The Syracuse city police have updated the routing of cars to and from the various west campus lots. Patrons should heed all instructions from traffic personnel to expedite getting to their lots, and exiting after the game.
Individual and season tickets are available online and at the Carrier Dome Box Office (1-888-DOMETIX; 888-366-3849). Season tickets start at $99. The SU Kick-off Pack, which includes one ticket to the home-opener against Wake Forest and the BIG EAST opener against Rutgers (Oct. 1, 12:00 p.m., BIG EAST Network), starts at $50. Please call the Box Office with any questions.
