Quentin Harris and Liza Rosenthal Rudick, two former Syracuse student-athletes, will be honored by the Wyoming Seminary Varsity Club and inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame. Harris and Rosenthal are two of six inductees of the 36th Hall of Fame class.
Harris was a four-year starter at free safety with the Orange, and finished his collegiate career with 327 tackles (183 solo), four forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries and 10 interceptions in 42 career games. He is second on the all-time Syracuse record list for tackles by a defensive back, and is tied for 10th in Syracuse history for the most career interceptions. He was chosen as an honorable mention All-American and first-team All-BIG EAST conference.
In 2002 he joined the Arizona Cardinals to begin his NFL career that spanned four years and 60 games. A free safety for four seasons with the Cardinals, he led the team in special teams tackles for two consecutive seasons. After completing his NFL career with the Denver Broncos, he rejoined the Cardinals in 2008 as a pro scout and is now the assistant pro personnel director.
Rudick competed on the varsity field hockey team while at SU and received a bachelor's degree in speech and hearing. She also holds masters degrees in education and administration from Goucher College and is now an elementary school teacher in the Baltimore County public school system as well as a graduate faculty member of Goucher College. She also is a member of the USTA tennis team in Baltimore.
About 231 athletes and contributors to Wyoming Seminary athletics have been inducted into the Hall of Fame since the school began the program in 1974.
The 36th Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony and banquet will be held on Friday, September 30. The dinner is open to the public, but reservations are required. Cost is $20.00. For information and reservations, call Sem's Development Office at 570-270-2140.
