SU hosts Rutgers on Saturday on Dollar Day at the Dome (12:00 p.m., BIG EAST Network)

Saturday Is Dollar Day At The Dome

Before the Orange kickoff against Rutgers on Saturday (12:00 p.m., BIG EAST Network), more than 200 student members of SU's fraternities and sororities, along with other student organizations, will be stationed at the Carrier Dome entrances on the Quad and across campus soliciting donations for the United Way of Central New York on Dollar Day at the Dome.
In its 13th year, Dollar Day at the Dome is an annual fundraising event and a vital part of SU's United Way campaign. Patrons who donate will be investing in the 95 local programs and services at 35 agencies that benefit from the United Way of Central New York.
The 2001 United Way campaign runs through December 9. Last year, Syracuse raised a record $215,000 through campus participation in the campaign. For more information, contact Jenn Horvath in the Department of Public Safety at 315-443-8328.
The Orange (3-1, 0-0) open the BIG EAST portion of its schedule this Saturday, October 1 (12:00 p.m., BIG EAST Network). Tickets are available for the game online, at the Carrier Dome Box Office (Gate B) and by phone (888-DOMETIX). The Time Warner Triple Play Pack, which includes one ticket to any of three home games of choice, starts at $72, while group sales discounts groups of 20 or more to any home game. Group sales are available by calling 315-443-3212 or emailing grpsales@syr.edu.
The first 500 children, age 12 and under, in the Dome will receive an Otto the Orange Piggy Bank courtesy of KeyBank. The Otto banks will be available for purchasing starting Monday, October 3rd at any Central New York KeyBank branch for a $5 donation to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Syracuse.
