Triche Named to BIG EAST Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Junior guard Brandon Triche has earned BIG EAST Honor Roll for back-to-back 16 point outings at Providence and against Marquette.
Triche led the Orange in scoring against the Friars, and sparked the second half surge by hitting three-consecutive 3's. The Jamesville, N.Y., native was 6-of-8 from the floor and connect on 4-of-5 from downtown.
Against the Golden Eagles, Triche tallied 13 of his 16 points in the first half, and also tied a career-high with seven rebounds.
In the two games, Triche was 11-of-20 from the floor and 8-of-14 from downtown. He added 10 rebounds, seven assists and four steals. Through four conference games, Triche is leading the team with 13.3 ppg.
The top-ranked Orange is on the road Wednesday evening at Villanova (7:00 p.m., ESPN2), before heading home to the Carrier Dome for a rematch with Providence on Saturday (6:00 p.m., BIG EAST Netowrk/TWCS).
