CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Senior forward Kris Joseph has been named a Midseason Third Team All-American by Sportingnews.com.
The leading scorer for the No. 1 team in the nation, Joseph is averaging 13.8 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. He is 39th on Syracuse's career scoring list with 1,228 points.
A candidate for the Wooden Award and the Naismith Trophy, Joseph has scored in double-figures 14 times this season, with a high of 22 coming at DePaul. He was also named the NIT Season Tipoff Most Outstanding Player.
Joseph and the top-ranked Orange (18-0, 5-0) host Providence this Saturday evening in the Carrier Dome (6:00 p.m., BIG EAST Network/TWCS), followed by a Monday tilt with Pittsburgh (7:30 p.m., ESPN).
