Mottershead Earns BIG EAST Honor

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Senior Alyscha Mottershead has been named to the BIG EAST Women's Soccer Weekly Honor Roll for her performance in Syracuse's two victories last week. She finished the weekend with five points and posted the game-winning goal against both Seton Hall and Rutgers.
Mottershead assisted on Syracuse's first goal against Seton Hall and then broke a 1-1 tie with a goal in the 37th minute in the Orange's 3-1 victory. She tallied the game-winner in SU's 1-0 win against Rutgers in the second overtime period on a hard shot from just outside the box on the right side. It marked the second time Mottershead has scored in overtime this season.
Through 13 games, Mottershead has a career-high four goals and two assists for a team-best 10 points. In addition, she has three game-winning goals.
The Orange goes for its fourth consecutive victory on Thursday, Oct. 4 when it hosts Pittsburgh at 7 p.m. at the SU Soccer Stadium. There is no admission charge.
