SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Every time the Syracuse Orange score points in the Carrier Dome, Dunkin' Donuts coffee will percolate throughout Central New York. America's favorite all-day, every-day stop for coffee and baked goods will donate one pound of coffee to Food Bank of Central New York for every point scored at home by the SU football team during its five games at the Dome this season. The Orange hosts Pittsburgh on Friday, Oct. 5 at the Carrier Dome in its BIG EAST opener (7:00 p.m., ESPN). Tickets are available online, in person at the Carrier Dome Box Office (Gate B), or by calling 1-888-DOMETIX.
"We are honored to partner with Syracuse Athletics to support an organization as vital as Food Bank of Central New York," said Eric Stensland, Upstate New York field marketing manager for Dunkin' Donuts. "The purpose of the partnership is to capture the excitement of each point and turn it into a tangible benefit for the food bank."
The official coffee of Syracuse Athletics and the Carrier Dome, Dunkin' Donuts will serve hot coffee at all Carrier Dome events through 2013. The "Points for Pounds" initiative is one element of a season-long partnership between Dunkin' Donuts and Syracuse Athletics that extends across many sports including football, basketball and lacrosse.
"This partnership provides a great opportunity for us to assist Food Bank of Central New York as it works tirelessly to help residents in need," said Joe Baldini, General Manager of Syracuse IMG Sports Marketing. "This is one of the many ways local residents and fans will benefit from Syracuse Athletics' partnership with Dunkin' Donuts this season."
