Three Named to CHA Honor Roll

Three members of the Syracuse ice hockey team (4-4-0, 2-0-0 CHA) were named to the CHA Honor Roll this week after splitting its series at Connecticut. Junior goaltender Kallie Billadeau, sophomore forward Shiann Darkangelo, and junior defenseman Akane Hosoyamada were SU's representatives on the honor roll this week. Â The Orange fell to the Huskies, 4-2, on Friday night and then bounced back to shutout UConn, 2-0, on Saturday.

Billadeau recorded her third shutout this season at UConn on Saturday, 2-0. The Minnetonka, Minn. native recorded 32 saves against the Huskies during both of her starts this weekend. She has a GAA of 0.76 and a save percentage of .964. She leads the conference in both GAA and save percentage. Billadeau has recorded a shutout in three of her four starts this season. Billadeau now has five career shutouts.

Darkangelo scored two goals this weekend at Connecticut. The Brighton, Mich. native has notched four goals over the past three games. She has a team-high two game-winning goals and is tied for first in the conference. Her power play tally in the first period at UConn served as the game-winning goal in SU's 2-0 shutout. She is tied with Laurie KingsÂbury for a team-high five goals. Darkangleo has seven points off of five tallies and two assists.

Hosoyamada had a two-point outing on Saturday in SU's 2-0 win at Connecticut. Hosoyamada had the primary assist on Darkangelo's power play game-winning goal in the first period. The Banff, Alberta native also scored her first goal of the season in the second period. She also leads the Orange defense with eight blocks.

The Orange is on the road again this weekend at Union, on Friday, Nov. 2 (7 p.m.) and Saturday, Nov. 3 (2 p.m.).
