"It was a very emotional day and sometimes that can help us and sometimes it can hurt us, but today, we played against a very good, defensive Seton Hall team and gave the fans an exciting game and win, " head coach Leonid Yelin said.
The Orange opened the first set trailing the Pirates, as communication errors, resulting in SU giving up three straight points in the opening frame. A block and pair of kills from Seton Hall's Morgan DeVries and Shelbey Manthorpe stretched the Pirates' lead to four, before a service ace and kill helped SU cut that lead by two.
