ORANGE CHAMPIONS
• Two victories for the Orange this week would capture Syracuse its first NCAA national championship in a women's team sport. ROAD TO THE FINAL FOUR
• Syracuse reached this weekend by defeating No. 16 Massachusetts, 4-2, in the first round and No. 3 Penn State, 5-2, in the second round.
• Four goals by four different scorers led SU to a 4-2 victory over UMass last Saturday at the Penn State Field Hockey Complex. In a rematch of its lone regular season loss, 2-1 on Oct. 11, the Orange seized control of the game early, scoring three first-half goals and outshooting the Minutewomen, 20-1, in the opening period.
 • Lauren Brooks, Kelsey Millman and Jordan Page scored the first-half goals and Stephanie Hussey scored early in the second half to give Syracuse a 4-0 lead before UMass got on the board with two late tallies by Thando Zono.
• Jordan Page scored two goals to lead the offense in SU's 5-2 win over the host Nittany Lions on Sunday. The defense, led by Leann Stiver's season-high 13 saves, fought off 15 Nittany Lion penalty corners, 11 of which came in the second half.

• With the win, the Orange defeated its highest-ranked opponent since a 2-1 victory at No. 1 Maryland on Sept. 13, 2008.
• "It was such a monumental moment for our program," head coach Ange Bradley said. "This group of seniors has been working so hard throughout their careers and this is the first time they have gotten a win like this. It was an honor to have a program with the tradition of North Carolina at Coyne, and to get the result we wanted is just awesome."
• It is the first time the Tar Heels have been shut out since 2009, 1-0 vs. Maryland in the ACC Tournament.
ORANGE SLAYS NO. 3 TIGERS
• Leonie Geyer and Emma Russell scored second-half goals to lead No. 2 Syracuse to a 2-0 victory at No. 3 Princeton on Sept. 23 at Bedford Field as the Orange stayed undefeated on the season and beat its second top-three ranked opponent.
• The victory improved the Orange to 9-0 on the season and the loss was Princeton's first of the season, leaving Syracuse and Connecticut as the only unbeaten teams remaining in NCAA Division I.
