Otto’s Army into Semis of Naismith Student Section of the Year

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Otto's Army student section has advanced to the semifinal round of the inaugural Naismith Student Section of the Year Award balloting.
With over 80 Division I basketball schools vying for the award, the field has been narrowed down to 16 semifinalist. Orange fans will have a say in helping Otto's Army take home the prize of being the best student section in the nation.
By visiting www.facebook.com/ILoveCollegeHoops, Orange fans can vote for Otto's Army to advance to the finals. Semifinal voting is open from Feb. 13-24. Fans are allowed to vote once per day. The link to vote is on the left hand side of the page, labeled "Vote Student Section."
The top eight schools that receive the most votes during the semifinal round with be sent to the Naismith Award Board of Selectors for the final award selection. The board will review criteria such as the student section name and attendance, as well as photos, video and a write-up submitted by the nominating school.
The winning student section earns bragging rights, while the winning school will receive $5,000 for its athletic association.
