NINE AND COUNTING

Syracuse has won the regular-season title nine times, which is the highest total for any school in league history.
A CLOSER LOOK AT THE ORANGE
Syracuse clinched at least a share of the BIG EAST Conference regular-season title with a 56-48 victory against South Florida on Wednesday, Feb. 22.
The Bulls jumped out to a 14-2 advantage and led 20-7 at the 8:52 mark of the first half. The Orange responded with its biggest run of the season.
Syracuse scored 26 unanswered points – 17 to end the opening half and then the first nine points of the second half to take a 33-20 lead. The Orange held USF scoreless for 11:22 during its run.
Trailing 36-22, the Bulls recorded nine straight points to get within five. After the two teams traded baskets, sophomore Dion Waiters sparked a 7-0 scoring run to extend SU's lead to 47-35 with 9:29 remaining.
The Bulls refused to go away, scoring the next 11 points to cut the deficit to one at 47-46 with 6:26 on the clock. A three-point play by senior Scoop Jardine and a layup by senior Kris Joseph put the Orange up by six. The Orange outscored the Bulls 9-2 down the stretch to keep its home record perfect this season.
Jardine led Syracuse with 15 points, while sophomore #C.J. Fair# scored 13 points. Fair also recorded six rebounds, three steals and five steals. Joseph tallied 12 points and led the Orange on the boards with 12.
