Chris Lutz of the men's rowing team and Natalie Busby from the women's track and field team are the Syracuse University Scholar Athletes of the Week for February 27, 2012.
Lutz (Fairless Hills, Pa.) is a senior majoring in management and technology. He has been named to the SU Athletic Director's Honor Roll three times.
On the water during the fall season, Lutz rowed in the three-seat in the Varsity Four at the Syracuse Invitational that finished second with a time of 17:36.30. He was also part of the Varsity Eight boat that competed at the historic Head of the Charles Regatta, finishing 18th (15:03.27).
Busby (New Paltz, N.Y.) is a senior majoring in biology and psychology. She is a seven-time member of the SU Athletic Director's Honor Roll and has been named to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team three times.
Busby, who is also a member of the cross country team, finished ninth in the 5,000-meter run at the BIG EAST Championships two weeks ago with an ECAC qualifying time of 17:03.70.
The men's crew team will be back on the water on March 31 against Princeton and Georgetown in Princeton, N.J. The women's track team will travel to Boston, Mass. for the ECAC Championship this weekend as well as the Columbia Last Chance meet in New York City.
