FANS CAN HELP FIGHT HUNGER

All items collected will go to the Food Bank of Central New York. Monetary donations will also be accepted.
BOEHEIM JOINING RARE COMPANY
Head coach Jim Boeheim needs one more victory to take over sole possession of third place on the Division I all-time wins list. Boeheim enters Wednesday's game with 879 career victories, which tie him with Dean Smith for the third-highest win total in Division I history. In addition to passing Smith on the career victories list, Boeheim would have the most wins by a coach at one school.
A CLOSER LOOK AT THE ORANGE
Five players scored in double figures to lead Syracuse past St. John's, 95-70, in Madison Square Garden on Saturday, Feb. 4.
After the Red Storm jumped out to a 7-2 lead, Dion Waiters jumper sparked the Orange on a 10-0 scoring run to give SU a 12-7 lead. The Orange continued to build its advantage and tallied the final six points of the half to take its largest lead of the frame at 41-27.
Syracuse scored the first nine points after intermission, increasing its lead to 23 just three minutes into the second half. SU's run, which started in the first half, ended at 22-3 and put the game out of reach.
Fab Melo scored a career-high 14 points, while Waiters and #C.J. Fair finished with 14 points each. Michael Carter-Williams was 3-for-4 from three-point range on his way to a career-best 13 points. Kris Joseph# also recorded 13 points and led the Orange with eight rebounds.
SCOUTING THE HOYAS
Georgetown has posted an 18-4 overall record during the 2011-12 campaign, including an 8-3 mark in the BIG EAST. The Hoyas have won two straight against BIG EAST opponents, knocking down both Connecticut and South Florida last week.
Senior guard Jason Clark leads the team in scoring with 15.4 points per game and is shooting 49.8 percent from the floor. Clark, who has scored in double figures 16 times this season, is averaging 15.0 points and shooting 52.9 percent from the floor against conference opponents. Senior center Henry Sims, who entered the season with three games in double figures in scoring in 88 career games, has reached double figures 14 times this season, including the last four games, averaging 12.8 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists in that span. He is the only player in the BIG EAST in the top 15 in assists and blocks. The Hoyas are second in the BIG EAST in scoring defense, allowing only 59.2 points per game.

In 2006-07, Thompson led the program to a 30-7 record as the Hoyas won the BIG EAST Tournament Championship, the NCAA East Regional and advanced to the Final Four for the first time since 1985.
