Desko, Megill Named To Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Syracuse men's lacrosse redshirt senior attackman Tim Desko and junior close defenseman Brian Megill were each named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll on Monday, March 12 for their performances in the Orange's 9-8 win at St. John's Saturday.
Desko tallied three points (2g, 1a), all in the fourth quarter, against the Red Storm. His goal with 1:25 left in regulation proved to be the game-winner.
Megill picked up a season-best five ground balls and forced two turnovers, while holding St. John's leading scorer Kieran McArdle without a goal. Megill also registered his first career point with an assist in the first quarter and went 3-for-4 (.750) in his debut at the faceoff X.
Zack Angel (Georgetown), Jeff Lowman (St. John's) and Max Hart (Villanova) joined Desko and Megill on the weekly honor roll.
Notre Dame's Jim Marlatt totaled four points (2g, 2a) in a 9-8 win at Hofstra to earn BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week honors. Villanova's Chris Creighton was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week after collecting a career-high seven ground balls in a come-from-behind win against Penn.
