SU Duo Named To BIG EAST Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Syracuse senior attackman Tommy Palasek and sophomore defenseman Matt Harris were both named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll on Monday, March 26 for their performances against Providence and Villanova last week.
Palasek averaged 3.5 points per game in the two contests. He registered a season-best four points (2g, 2a) against Villanova on March 25 and had two goals, one assist and picked up a career-high four ground balls in a 10-6 win over Providence on March 21.
Harris tied his career high with six ground balls in the Providence victory and anchored an Orange defense that did not allow an even-strength goal to the Friars until the fourth quarter. Against Villanova, Harris netted his first goal of the season and collected three more ground balls.
Sean Rogers (Notre Dame), Dillon Ayers (St. John's) and Jack Rice (Villanova) joined Palasek and Harris on the weekly honor roll.
Terence Leach recorded consecutive four-goal games against Hofstra and Sacred Heart to earn BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week honors. Villanova goalie Dan Gutierrez was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week for his 12-save effort against Syracuse Sunday.
