Bobby Eilers from the men's lacrosse team and Lisaira Daniels from the softball team are the Syracuse University Scholar Athletes of the Week for March 5, 2012.
Eilers (Simsbury, Conn.) is a senior majoring in communication and rhetorical studies. He has been named to the SU Athletic Director's Honor Roll four times and earned selection to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team last season.
Eilers, one of four co-captains in 2012, has started all three games this season for SU. As a member of Syracuse's top midfield line, he has collected six ground balls.
Daniels (Newnan, Ga.) is a senior majoring in public health. She is a three-time member of the SU Athletic Director's Honor Roll and was named to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team last season.
Daniels leads the Orange in nearly every offensive category this season, including a .378 average with five home runs and 10 RBI through 15 games. She is also a perfect 7-of-7 on stolen bases, increasing her school record to 59 swipes.
The men's lacrosse team (2-1) will be back in action on Saturday at St. John's in the team's BIG EAST opener while the softball team heads to Clearwater, Fla. for the USF Under Armour Invitational.
