Kuwik Named to BIG EAST Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Junior pitcher Stacy Kuwik has been named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll for her dominating performance in the circle last week.
Kuwik was a perfect 3-0 with a 0.00 ERA. She struck out 31 batters in 18 innings of work and scattered just 11 hits. Against Binghamton, Kuwik fanned a career-high 17 batters.
The Fairport, N.Y. native began the week with eight strikeouts in four innings of work against Cornell. She then followed that up with the gem against the Bearcats which included Kuwik recording the first 14 outs via the K.
In her final start of the week, Kuwik went the distance against Notre Dame and added six more strikeouts to her total. In her last four starts combined, Kuwik has rang up 43 batters. She is 9-3 on the season with a 1.90 ERA.
The Orange has five BIG EAST Conference games this week, all of which will be played at the SU Softball Stadium. Syracuse hosts Pittsburgh on Wednesday for a doubleheader beginning at 3:00 p.m., and will then play a three game set with Rutgers this coming weekend.
