Fanfest Offers Sneak Peek at 2012 Orange

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Orange fans are invited to get a first-hand look at the 2012 Syracuse football team Friday, Aug. 10 when the program holds its annual Fanfest at the Lampe Athletics Complex. Orange supporters are welcome to watch practice, get autographs, and participate in a variety of activities the whole family can enjoy.
Admission and parking are free in the Manley North and South lots. The fun starts at 3 p.m. with practice running from 3:20-5:30 p.m. on the Schwartzwalder and Katz practice fields behind Manley Field House. An autograph session with members of this year's team will take place immediately after practice.
During Fanfest, the Joe Vielbig Track (next to Coyne Field and the Schwartzwalder and Katz practice fields) will be transformed into an exciting family fun zone, featuring appearances by various Syracuse student-athletes, inflatable "jumpies" for kids, a merchandise tent, and assorted food and beverage options. In addition, representatives from Tops, the official supermarket of SU Athletics, will be on hand distributing free samples.
Fans are also encouraged to stop by the ticket booth to purchase their 2012 football tickets. A variety of season, individual game and mini-packs are available, as well as ticket and travel packages for the 2012 New York College Classic between Syracuse and USC on Sept. 8 at MetLife Stadium.
Free posters and schedule cards for all who attend Fanfest so come one, come all and don't miss this opportunity to get an up close and personal look at the year's team.
The Orange reports for preseason camp on Saturday, Aug. 4 with the first practice scheduled for Monday, Aug. 6. The 2012 regular season kicks off at home Saturday, Sept. 1 against Northwestern (noon, ESPN2). Tickets are available online, in person at the Carrier Dome Box Office (Gate B), or by calling 1-888-DOMETIX.
