Syracuse sophomore defensive tackle Ryan Sloan will miss the 2012 Syracuse football season due to a lower body injury and junior running back Steven Rene will miss three to five weeks with an upper body injury. In addition, head coach Doug Marrone announced today from the team's training camp in Fort Drum, N.Y.
In addition, senior strong safety Shamarko Thomas (upper body), junior defensive tackle Jay Bromley (lower body), sophomore cornerback Jaston George (upper body), junior cornerback Joe Nassib (lower body), sophomore defensive tackle Eric Crume (upper body) and senior offensive tackle Andrew Phillips (lower body) are listed as day-to-day due to their injuries.
The 2012 Orange open the season against Northwestern in the Carrier Dome on Sept. 1 (12 p.m., ESPN2). Season and individual game tickets are available online, in person at the Carrier Dome Box Office (Gate B), or by calling 1-888-DOMETIX. Tickets and travel packages for New York's College Classic against USC at MetLife Stadium on Sept. 8th are available online.
