Courts For Kids Helps Auburn

Syracuse men's basketball coach Jim Boeheim was in Auburn Friday afternoon, representing the Jim and Juli Boeheim Foundation at its "Courts For Kids" program at the Booker T. Washington Community Center. Boeheim was joined by state senator Mike Nozzolio, Auburn major Mike Quill and George Cuthbert from Electronic Medical Records & Medical Practice Management to dedicate a refurbished basketball court at the Center.
"Courts For Kids" is one of many charitable activities initiated by the Jim and Juli Boeheim Foundation. This endeavor also includes Syracuse All-American and current New York Knicks standout Carmelo Anthony.
Public basketball courts in need of repair in the Syracuse area are targeted for improvements as part of the program. The courts carry the name "Jim Boeheim Court" and feature break-away rims on the baskets.
Working in partnership with the City of Syracuse Department of Parks, Recreation & Youth Programs, the Boeheim Foundation has already helped with court upgrades in Schiller Park and Skiddy Park. The courts at the Booker T. Washington Community Center were revitalized with the help of the City of Auburn.
