Nassib Honored by BIG EAST for Third Straight Week

For the third consecutive week, senior quarterback Ryan Nassib has been honored by the BIG EAST. Nassib has been named to this week's BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after throwing 22 completions for 335 yards and three touchdowns against Stony Brook.

Nassib ranks in the top 10 nationally in the following categories: completions per game (32.3, 6th), passing yards (1,139, 2nd), passing yards per game (379.7, 2nd), total offense (400.3 ypg, 3rd) and points responsible for (20.0 per game, t-10th).

In the SU season opener against Northwestern, the West Chester, Pa. native set the Orange single-game records for completions (45), attempts (66), and yards (482). He was also named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week for his record-breaking performance against the Wildcats. Nassib was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll last week after completing 30 passes for 322 yards and two touchdowns against USC. He is also listed on the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award and the Senior Bowl watch lists.

The third year veteran continues his climb throughout the Orange record book. He is the SU career leader in completions (594) and ranks second in touchdown passes (53) behind Donovan McNabb's 77.

The Orange head to Minnesota this Saturday, Sept. 22nd to face the Golden Gophers at 8 p.m. (BTN).
