Syracuse freshman tight end Ron Thompson will miss the 2012 season due to a lower body injury that required surgery, which was performed by Dr. Irving Raphael. A native of Southfield, Mich., Thompson joined the Orange for the 2012 season after a standout career at Southfield High School, where he caught 67 passes for 809 yards and had 98 tackles, including six sacks, as a senior.
