Lemon, Diabate on BIG EAST Honor Roll

Following team-leading performances against Minnesota, senior wide receiver Alec Lemon and senior linebacker Siriki Diabate have both been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll. Lemon caught nine passes for 106 yards against the Golden Gophers to become the Orange's all-time leader in receptions. Diabate led the Orange defense with a career-high ten tackles, including four solo, at Minnesota.

Lemon has 145 career catches, surpassing previous record holders Scott Schwedes (1983-86) and Shelby Hill (1990-93) who both had 139. The Crofton, MD native is now in sixth on SU's all-time list for the most receiving yards with 1,696. Lemon has registered a catch in 19 consecutive games, which dates back to 2010. He has recorded 11 career touchdowns. Lemon ranks third on the BIG EAST receptions per game list (5.3 rpg) and ninth on the receiving yards per game (56.7 ypg).

So far in 2012, Diabate has notched 25 tackles, including 14 solo and 1.5 tackles for a loss of one yard. His 25 tackles are tied for 16th in the BIG EAST. He has a career total of 49 tackles, which includes 31 solo, 4.5 tackles for a loss of 12 yards and one sack for a loss of eight yards. Â He has started every game this season at middle linebacker.
