Goggins Shines in NFLPA Collegiate Bowl

Senior defensive tackle Deon Goggins had an impressive performance in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl on Saturday, Jan. 19th at the Home Depot Center in Carson, CA. Goggins was a member of the National team, which defeated the American team, 34-0. The Los Angeles, CA. native recorded three tackles, including two solo, two for a loss of four yards and one sack for a loss of three yards. He also forced and recovered a fumble. The fumble he recovered eventually led to a touchdown for the national team.

There was also another familiar Syracuse face on the opposite sideline. Former Syracuse great, Art Monk, was the wide receivers coach for the American team.

Goggins finished up the 2012 season for the Orange with 53 tackles, including 26 solo, 8.5 for a loss of 16 yards and one sack for a loss of one yard. He also recovered a fumble at Temple and started every contest for the Orange this season.
