The Orange Prepare for No. 3/4 Clemson

The Clemson game is fast approaching and head coach Scott Shafer and the Orange have been working hard to prepare for the number three ranked Tigers. The two teams square off on Saturday, October 5 at 3:30 p.m. in the Carrier Dome (ABC/ESPN2).
Tickets for the Clemson game are available starting at $29. They can be ordered online, by phone (1-888-DOMETIX) or in person at the Carrier Dome Box Office. For $75 fans can take advantage of the Tops Family Four Pack, which includes two adult tickets, two youth tickets, a $5 concession voucher and one Skytop parking pass.
"I think our crowd will be excited and ready to roll. I think they are taking it as a challenge, I think there are fired up to get back into the Dome against the No. 3/4 team in the country," Shafer said. "Our crowd, our student body and our town in general, as they have in the past, will show up and be extremely loud and make it a difficult environment for Clemson."
Coach Shafer has made it a point to stay the course of his practice strategies in order to keep focus away from a highly-touted Clemson squad. He has undertaken preparations as he would with any opponent, developing a game plan accordingly but keeping his overall approach the same.
"I haven't changed and our staff hasn't changed. We've gone to work and gone about our business the same way we would in any other week," Shafer said. "We've continued to preach and practice working on those targeted areas and we need to do a good job winning the small battles throughout the course of any game. By focusing on the same things you do every week I think it sends the right message to the kids."
A limited number of seats in the lower bowl have been released for the game on Saturday. The tickets will go on sale Thursday, October 3 at 9 a.m. and can be purchased online at suathletics.com, in person at the Carrier Dome Box Office, or by calling 1-888-DOME-TIX.
Syracuse will retire the jersey of legendary quarterback Don MacPherson at halftime of the Clemson game. The first 10,000 fans who enter the Dome will receive an ultra-stylized 8x10 glossy reproduction by Syracuse Steiner Collectables, commemorating the event.
Gates open a half an hour early this week and fans are encouraged to come to the Dome early to ensure that they are in their seats for kickoff. Gates open at 1:30 p.m. for the 3:30 p.m. start.
