SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Former Syracuse lacrosse All-Americans Brad Kotz and Charlie Lockwood are members of the 2013 Town of Camillus/West Genesee Hall of Fame induction class. The pair will be honored on Saturday, Nov. 2 at Pensabene's Casa Grande located on State Fair Boulevard in Syracuse. The ceremony is free and open to the public.
Â
Kotz and Lockwood join Elisabeth and David Beebe, Manuel Martinez, Mary Scarson, Tim Schoonmaker and the 1958 West Genesee boys soccer team as members of this year's class.
Â
Kotz came to SU after starring in lacrosse for the Wildcats. He played four seasons (1982-85) for the Orange and paced the team with 41 goals in 1983 to deliver the program its first NCAA national championship. Kotz earned first-team All-America honors three times and finished his Syracuse career with 205 total points (129 goals, 76 assists). He was inducted into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2001.
Â
Almost a decade later, Lockwood followed in Kotz's footsteps, joining the Orange in 1991 after a standout scholastic career at West Genesee. A four-time All-American for the Orange, Lockwood finished his SU career with 152 points (87 goals, 55 assists). He led the Orange to the national championship in 1993, and went on to play in two world championships as a member of Team USA (1994, 1998).
Â
Established in 2008, the Camillus/West Genesee Sports Hall of Fame was formed to recognize people who have made a significant impact in the areas of sports and recreation. Orange lacrosse coaches John Desko and Kevin Donahue, both 1975 West Genesee graduates, were members of the 2011 induction class.
Â
Plaques for the inductees are displayed in the Town of Camillus Municipal Building.
