10/8/2013 2:13:00 PM | Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball
SYRACUSE, NY – American rapper Ace Hood, who is known for the hit singles "Hustle Hard" and "Bugatti," will perform at Orange Madness on Friday, October 18, in the Carrier Dome.
Ace Hood has recorded four studio albums, including "Trials & Tribulations," which was released July 2013. The album's first single "Bugatti" peaked at No. 33 on Billboard's Hot 100 and is certified platinum by the RIAA, making it Ace Hood's most successful single. His song "Top of the World" was also featured in the basketball simulation game NBA 2K10.
Syracuse basketball fans can get their first look at the 2013 men's and women's squads at the annual event. Tickets for the general public are currently available for $5 through suathletics.com, by phone at (888) DOME-TIX, or in person at the Carrier Dome Box Office.
All students will be provided free entrance into Orange Madness by showing their SU or ESF student ID at Gate E. Similar to a regular men's basketball home game, if there is still room in the student area after all student-season ticket holders enter, remaining SU & ESF students will be provided access to the student area until it fills. Once full, students will be provided with a reserved seat in the best available location.
In addition to Ace Hood, this year's Orange Madness will include:
Syracuse fans are encouraged to dress in orange, break out the "Big Heads" and ignite "the Loud House," all to enhance the viewing experience on ESPNU, which will televise the event.
The men's basketball team is coming off a Final Four appearance. Jim Boeheim, who ranks second among NCAA Division I coaches in victories, enters his 38th season with a squad led by seniors C.J. Fair and Baye Moussa Keita. Women's coach Quentin Hillsman guided the Orange to a 24-8 record and a berth in the NCAA Tournament. Nine letter winners return for that team, including sophomore guards Brianna Butler and Brittney Sykes, each of whom earned BIG EAST Conference All-Freshman honors last winter.
Doors will open for Orange Madness at 6:00 p.m. with the event scheduled to get underway at 8:00 p.m.
Free parking is available in the Stadium West lots at the Dome and at Manley Field House. A shuttle service will run from the Manley lots starting at 5:30 p.m.
