HOUSTON — Syracuse won six of the seven events at Monday's 'Rodeo Bowl' to start its week in Houston off with a bang. The Orange won the first five events to cruise to a 6-1 victory against Minnesota in advance of Friday's Texas Bowl.

The SU offensive line brought down the barn with its dance moves to start the night off, then corralled some calves to go up 2-0.

Texas native Drew Allen set the tone in the mascot lassoing competition and Josh Kirkland took down a calf in the branding event (don't worry they used chalk!) to give the Orange a 4-0 advantage. SU was too fast for the Gophers in winning the "horse race," extending the margin to 5-0.

Minnesota got on the scoreboard by capturing the flag on the calf's tail faster than the SU players, but the Orange finished strong as Charley Loeb and Jarrod West survived the hay-bale toss to seal the 6-1 triumph.

Syracuse has its first practice in Texas tomorrow morning.
