Sophomore Michael Carter-Williams and members of Otto's Army are featured on this week's issue of Sports Illustrated. The annual NCAA Tournament Preview edition features four regional covers highlighting specific players from each region.
Carter-Williams ranks third in the nation in assists (7.7 apg.) and sixth in steals (2.74 spg.). His 271 assists rank fifth on Syracuse's single-season record list and are the second-highest total for a sophomore in the program's history.
A second-team All-BIG EAST honoree, Carter-Williams was voted as the BIG EAST co-Most Improved Player. He is one of 14 finalists for the Oscar Robertson Trophy and one of five finalists for the Cousy Award, which is given annually to nation's point guard.
The last Syracuse player to be featured on the Sports Illustrated NCAA Tournament Preview cover was Wesley Johnson in 2010. Jonny Flynn was highlighted in 2009.
The Orange makes its 2013 NCAA Tournament debut on Thursday, March 21 when it takes on Montana at 10 p.m.
