The third annual New York Yankees/New Era Pinstripe Bowl Charity Golf Tournament will have plenty of Orange in it. Â Head coach Scott Shafer, Director of Athletics Dr. Daryl Gross and former SU quarterback Don McPherson will participate in the golf tournament that is sponsored by UnitedHealthcare on Monday, May 20, at Westchester Country Club in Rye, N.Y.
Â
Net proceeds from the event will benefit the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Pediatric Cancer Center, Tourette Syndrome Association of Central New Jersey, Boomer Esiason Foundation Fighting Cystic Fibrosis and UnitedHealthcare Children's Foundation. In just two years, more than 400 individuals have participated in the tournament and in excess of $200,000 has been raised for charity.
Â
The Syracuse football team has been victorious in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl twice in the past three years, defeating Kansas State, 36-34, in 2010 and West Virginia, 38-14, in 2012.
Â
All fans are invited to join 'Orangenation Rising,' a state of mind where passion, tradition and die-hard loyalty intersect, by renewing their season tickets or purchasing new 2013 season tickets. Fans can use the internet (SUAthletics.com), telephone (888-DOME-TIX), or visit the Carrier Dome Box Office (Gate B). Season tickets start at just $99 each.
