Nerud wins Junior Steeple Title at USA Championships

DES MOINES, Iowa - Freshman Brianna Nerud captured the women's 3000m junior steeplechase title at the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Drake Stadium this afternoon. Nerud finished in 10:15.67 at the championships. She took 17th in the 3000m steeplechase at the NCAA Championship with a time of 10:18.16, garnering USTFCCCA Honorable Mention All-America honors.
Also in action today was Joel Hubbard who qualified for the 1500m junior final tomorrow by finishing 12th with a time of 3:57.82 in the prelims. Daniel Lennon will compete in the men's junior 10000m run at 9:00 p.m. CT.
Yesterday, Kevyn Hoyos took sixth place in the men's junior 5000m run. Hoyos completed the race in 15:16.71. Â Graduate student Lauren Penney finished 19th in the women's 1500m senior run prelims. She recorded a time of 4:20.15.
Tomorrow, Donald Pollitt will compete in the men's senior 110m hurdles at 3:10 p.m. CT.
