Michael Carter-Williams, who helped Syracuse reach the Final Four this past season, was selected 11th overall in the 2013 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers.
Carter-Williams started all 40 games as a sophomore with the Orange and was part of a squad that finished the season 30-10 overall. Syracuse reached the NCAA semifinals before having its season ended by eventual national runnerup Michigan.
He was a finalist for the Bob Cousy and Oscar Robertson awards. Carter-Williams was named the Co-Most Improved Player in the BIG EAST Conference and was second-team all-conference.
Carter-Williams averaged 11.9 points, 7.3 assists and 2.8 steals per game. He finished the season ranked four in assist average and fifth in steals average among Division I players. His 292 assists represented the second-best single-season total in program history, ranking only behind Sherman Douglas' 326 in 1988-89.
He is the 20th Syracuse player selected in the first round of the NBA Draft and ranks as the ninth highest pick of the group. Carter-Williams is the sixth SU performer taken in the first round since the 2008 draft.
