UTICA, N.Y. -Â Brittney Sykes scored 39 points to lead Utica Select to a 71-61 victory vs. the Upstate Ballers to win the King of Kings Summer Basketball League at Mohawk Community College in Utica on Sunday. The Syracuse sophomore guard was named the league's Most Valuable Player and Defensive Player of the Year, while Orange senior guard Rachel Coffey scored 15 points and dished out 11 assists for Utica Select as it finished the league with an 8-0 record.

Sykes and Coffey were both named to the five six-player all-star team for the league as well.

Also competing in the summer league was Syracuse senior guard Phylesha Bullard. She played for the Ain't Word squad that lost in the semifinals to the Upstate Ballers.

Now in its eighth year, the NCAA-sanctioned King of Kings Life Development Program delivers the best men's and women's summer pro-am basketball in Upstate New York. It has seen many Syracuse players, men and women, as well as past and present, compete with some of the top talent in the area.
