SU Adds High Point To Hoop Itinerary

SYRACUSE, NY – Syracuse and High Point (N.C.) will meet for the first time in college basketball when the two programs clash in the Carrier Dome on Friday, December 20.
High Point was 17-14 overall and 12-4 in the Big South a season ago. The Panthers claimed the Big South North Division title and earned a spot in the CollegeInsider.com Tournament.
Former North Carolina player Scott Cherry has logged four seasons at High Point. The program moved to Division I in 1999-2000.
Redshirt sophomore John Brown (16.4 ppg., 6.1 rpg.), a forward, is a top returning performer for the Panthers. Forward Allan Chaney (14.5 ppg., 8.1 rpg.), a graduate student, is another double-digit scorer back in the fold for High Point.
SU has posted back-to-back 30-win seasons for the first time in school history. The Orange finished 34-3 and in the NCAA Tournament's Elite Eight in 2011-12 and followed that up with a Final Four appearance and 30-10 mark last year.
