Everyone Invited to Orange Fanfest!

By Friday the Orange football team will have the full complement of equipment and it will be just in time for all Syracuse fans to see the 2013 squad in person! Syracuse's annual Orange Fanfest is Friday, August 9 at the Schwartzwalder-Katz practice fields behind Manley Field House.
"We got the first one in, kicked the season off, and we're looking forward to Fanfest too," said head coach Scott Shafer after his 2013 squad practiced for the first time this afternoon. "We're inviting everybody out to come and watch the kids play, practice, run around. That should be a good way to kick it off with our fans on Friday afternoon.
"For a first practice I was excited the kids played really fast, really hard. A ton of enthusiasm and excitement out there," Shafer said. "I thought for a first practice without pads on it was good but we've got a lot of work to do."
The Fanfest begins at 4 p.m. with practice running from 4:30-6:40 p.m. Admission is free and free parking is available in Manley North and South lots. The fields are located closest to the South lot on East Colvin Street.
Food will be available for all attendees and prizes will be given out throughout the three-hour event. An autograph session will be held after practice with the 2013 SU football team.
Tickets for the 2013 season will be available for purchase at Fanfest and packages start at just $52. Pre-purchased season tickets will also available for pick-up.

The 2013 regular season kicks off at MetLife Stadium on August 31 against Penn State (3:30 p.m., ESPN 2, ABC). Single-game tickets can be purchased at Fanfest, online, in person at the Carrier Dome Box Office (Gate B), or by calling 1-888-DOMETIX.
