STORRS, Conn. -- In its final non-conference game of the season, Syracuse takes on Connecticut (2-2) in Storrs on Sunday, Sept. 8 at 1 p.m. The Orange is off to its best start since 2003 with a 4-1 record through the first five games of the season.
THE SERIES
Syracuse has played Connecticut more than any other opponent. The Huskies lead the series, 17-1. The Orange's only victory against UConn came last season at the SU Soccer Stadium.
IOZZI SCORES FIRST CAREER GOAL
Freshman Maddie Iozzi broke a 0-0 tie with her first career goal in the 22nd minute against Fairleigh Dickinson. The Orange added a another goal in the first half and went on to defeat the Knights, 2-1. Iozzi ranks fourth on the team in scoring with three points (1g, 1a). She is the third freshman to score a goal for Syracuse this season.
UP NEXT...
Syracuse goes on the road next weekend for its first-ever ACC contests. The Orange plays at No. 5/4 Virginia on Thursday, Sept. 12 and at Virginia Tech on Sunday, Sept. 15.
