Orange in the NFL: Playoff Update

Syracuse will be represented in the NFL playoffs again this season with starting defensive end Chandler Jones and starting safety Steve Gregory suiting up for the Patriots this weekend against the Colts in the AFC East divisional playoff.

Last season two former Orange won a Super Bowl Championship with the Baltimore Ravens, Jameel McClain and Arthur Jones, Chandler's brother.

Jones is in his second season with the Patriots after being taken by New England in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He started in all 16 games this season, tallying 79 tackles including a team-best 11.5 sacks (seventh in league) along the way. He has nearly doubled his tackle and sack total from his rookie season, in which he was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Defensive Team.

Gregory is an NFL veteran in his eighth season in the league and second with the Patriots. He equals Jones's tackles with 79 on the season, the fourth-most on the team. He has the second-most solo take-downs for New England, totaling 50 throughout the regular season.
