The Syracuse men's basketball team took a break from practice sessions to hold its annual Media Day in the Carmelo Anthony Basketball Practice Facility on Friday.
Hall of Fame Coach Jim Boeheim, who is in his 39th season at the helm of his alma mater, answered questions about the team's prospects for 2014-15. Boeheim enters the campaign ranked second on the all-time Division I coaching win list and just two shy of 950 in his career.
Senior center Rakeem Christmas and redshirt junior Trevor Cooney, a guard, are the most experienced performers in this year's lineup. Boeheim also singled out junior Michael Gbinije as one of the club's key veterans.
Highly-touted freshmen Kaleb Joseph, a guard, and forward Chris McCullough, experienced their first session with the local media.
Syracuse opens its season with an exhibition game on Sunday, November 2, against Carleton University (Canada).
