Shafer Previews the Orange's trip to Death Valley

'Cuse looking for third-straight road win
While Clemson's 'Death Valley' is considered one of the more difficult venues to play in all of college football, head coach Scott Shafer borrowed a piece from a popular movie when talking to his team about preparing for that environment.
"We all remember the movie Hoosiers and the coach comes out and says the rim is still ten feet, it's the same thing here," Shafer said. "It's still five yards, the goalposts are the same size as the ones that we kick at, but there's another part to it too. I want our kids to enjoy it. The process of going into a place like 'Death Valley,' taking it all in and then being able to zero in and saying 'I need to do a good job with this particular defense or this particular offense and see if I can win one play at a time within all this pomp and circumstance.
"That's the beauty of coaching is trying to teach the kids to enjoy the process because you only get a few of these opportunities in your lifetime, so you want them to enjoy it and then zero in and play football between the two white lines that are the same as when we're back home. Especially when some of these kids are just teenagers, but it'll be a good challenge for us and we're looking forward to it."
