SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse University field hockey team begins postseason play on Thursday afternoon at the 2014 Atlantic Coast Conference Field Hockey Championship in Durham, N.C. The sixth-seeded Orange will take on No. 3 seed Boston College in its quarterfinal matchup at 4 p.m. at Jack Katz Stadium on the campus of Duke University.

For the second straight year, Syracuse will open ACC Championship play against the Eagles. Syracuse defeated Boston College, 3-1, in the 2013 ACC Championship quarterfinals. The two teams met earlier this year, with BC coming away with a 3-2 overtime victory on Sept. 20.

Virginia earned the top seed for the seven-team conference tournament and will receive a bye for the first round of play. North Carolina was named the No. 2 seed and will take on seventh-seeded Duke in the second game of the quarterfinals at 1:30 p.m. Fourth-seeded Wake Forest and No. 5 seed Louisville open the tournament at 11 a.m.

The winner of the ACC Championship will receive an automatic berth into the 2014 NCAA Tournament.

ACC fans will be able catch all six games of the tournament as they will streamed live online on ESPN3 and available on the WatchESPN mobile application. Single-session tickets are available for $5 for adults and $3 for youth. All-session tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for youth. Students from an ACC school can enter for free with valid student identification.
