Cuse TV: Shafer looks toward return to the Dome

Orange host NC State on Saturday
The Orange will return to the Carrier Dome to take on NC State Saturday where head coach Scott Shafer and Syracuse defense will face another challenge in Jacoby Brissett and the Wolfpack.
Shafer was proud of the way the 'Cuse defense handled the Clemson offense on Saturday and hopes for more of the same this week.
"The thing I was most proud of was the way our defense played, coming up with four turnovers in a game against a very good Clemson team that really hadn't turned the ball over a lot," Shafer said. "I'm really impressed with the way the front seven played and it wasn't really until the end of the game that we started to give up some rushing yards. The secondary probably played their best game of the year against an elite group of wide receivers and a kid who had really thrown the ball a lot down the field."
The Orange will look for the same results in creating turnovers against another team that takes care of the football. The Wolfpack is averaging just over one turnover per game and Brissett has thrown for just three interceptions compared with his 16 touchdown passes.
"He was one of the better quarterbacks coming out and then decided to transfer and they've got themselves a good player," Shafer said. "He can throw the ball down the field, he can also extend plays with his feet and take off with it. He played an exceptional game against Florida State earlier in the year and did some unbelievable acrobatic things to give them a chance in the fourth quarter to win that game. So we'll have our challenges in front of us and it starts with him on offense."
