Men's Rowing Completes Fall Season

Four top-five finishes at Cornell Autumn Classic
ITHACA, N.Y. – The Syracuse University men's rowing team completed its fall racing season on Saturday at the Cornell Autumn Classic. Syracuse registered four top-five showings in its final event of the 2014 fall campaign.

In the morning, Syracuse sent out three boats for the varsity fours race. The "A" boat placed third, covering the course in 13:25.1. Senior Christian Mund served as the boat's coxswain, while junior Ryan McCarry (stroke), senior Cameron Bierwith (3), senior Patrick O'Shaughnessy-Hunter (2), and sophomore Joshua Hockenberry (bow) made up the boat.

The "B" boat placed fifth in the varsity fours, clocking in at a time of 13:33.6. The "C" boat finished in ninth place after completing the race in 14:02.2.

There were two different varsity eight competitions, one in the morning and a latter in the afternoon. In the morning, Syracuse raced one boat and placed third with a time of 12:38.3. The Orange deployed three boats in the afternoon, with the "A" boat finishing fourth out of 16 boats. Syracuse's "A" boat recorded a time of 12:09.5.

The "B" boat finished in seventh place with a time of 12:22.1, while the "C" boat covered the course in 12:38.1, good enough for 10th place. Â
