12/4/2014 3:29:00 PM | Men's Basketball, General
All Syracuse basketball fans are invited to do some holiday shopping at the Carrier Dome during the Orange men's game against St. John's on Saturday, December 6 (5:15 pm). The 10th Annual Charity Sports Auction, hosted and run by the Sport Management (SPM) Club at Syracuse University, will benefit the Make-A-Wish® Central New York. All fans can shop in the backcourt for unique and personal gifts by bidding hundreds of items collected by the SPM Club, the student-run organization in the Falk College's Sport Management Department.
Â
"The commitment and level of professionalism of the Sport Management students are impressive and we are just very proud to be connected to Syracuse University in this way," said Make-A-Wish® Central New York President and CEO Diane Kuppermann. "We are so excited about the auction and the impact the donation will have, but we are especially excited about the awareness this event will generate and the long-term impact it will have on Make-A-Wish in our region."
Â
Make-A-Wish® is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization dedicated to granting the special wishes of children, between the ages of 2-1/2 and 18, who are living with life-threatening medical conditions. In granting these wishes, Make-A-Wish® strives to provide the child and family with a bit of respite and extra-special memories of joy and laughter.
Â
Make-A-Wish® is able to continue to share the power of a wish® thanks to the generous support of individuals and corporations throughout its 15-county region, including Broome, Cayuga, Chenango, Cortland, Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego, Otsego, St. Lawrence, Tioga and Tompkins counties.
Â
Purchase of a game ticket for the December 6 Syracuse men's basketball game is necessary for access to the auction and can be purchased here (www.cuse.com) or at the Carrier Dome Box Office. Tickets can also be ordered by phone at 1-800-DOMETIX.
