Dylan Donahue Named ACC Offensive Player of the Week

Attackman wins first career conference player of the week award
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Syracuse attackman Dylan Donahue was selected as the Atlantic Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday, Feb. 18. Donahue totaled 14 points on 11 goals and three assists to lead the Orange to wins against Siena and Albany last week.
Against Siena on Feb. 10, Donahue scored a career-high eight goals, one short of the school record, and the most ever for an SU player in a season-opening game. He added one assist to finish with a personal-best nine points in the contest. Donahue followed it up with his seventh career hat trick in SU's 17-16 overtime win against Albany Sunday. He also was credited with two assists against the Great Danes to finish the game with five points.
Virginia goaltender Matt Barrett was tabbed ACC Defensive Player of the Week after making a career-high 16 saves to lead the Cavaliers to an 11-10 triumph at Drexel.
Syracuse returns to action Saturday, Feb. 22 when it faces Maryland at 1 p.m. at the Carrier Dome in its ACC opener. The game will be televised live locally on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel.
