Orange head coach Scott Shafer will discuss the Syracuse 2014 National Letter of Intent Class today at 3:45 pm in a press conference that will be streamed live here on www.Cuse.com. The group of 25 includes 15 defensive players and 10 on the offensive side and represents 11 states, including six each from Illinois and Florida.
The NLI Class includes quarterback Alin Edouard, wide receivers Jamal Custis, Adly Enoicy, Steve Ishmael and KJ Williams, running back Ervin Philips, offensive linemen Aaron Roberts and Denzel Ward, defensive linemen Jalen Harvey, Kayton Samuels and Chris Slayton, linebackers Parris Bennett, Zaire Franklin, Colton Moskal and Jonathan Thomas, and defensive backs Antwan Cordy, Lamar Dawson, Juwan Dowels, Naesean Howard, Cordell Hudson, Treevon Prater and Rodney Williams. This group joins January enrollees wide receiver Corey Cooper, quarterback A.J. Long and defensive tackle Wayne Williams.
In addition to his press conference on www.Cuse.com, Shafer will join ESPNU and CBSSports.com Signing Day programs this afternoon. He will be on CBSSports.com with Bruce Feldman, Jeremy Fowler and Adam Aizer at 4:40 pm and on ESPNU with Dari Nowkhah at 4:50 pm.
For a local flavor, fans can watch Time Warner Cable SportsChannel's live "Syracuse Football Signing Day Special" today at 4:00 p.m. ET across the state of New York. The one-hour live special hosted by Time Warner Cable News Sports Director Mark Larson will carry Shafer's press conference from Manley Field House and feature live interviews on site with Syracuse recruiting coordinators and Pro Football Hall of Famer and Syracuse legend Floyd Little.
At 5 pm, Shafer will join ESPN Radio 97.7FM with Chris McManus and Steve Infanti.
The Orange begin Spring football on March 18 and conclude with the annual Spring game on April 19.
All Orange fans are invited to place a deposit for 2014 Syracuse football season tickets, which start at $99, or purchase a three-game package that includes games against Villanova, Florida State and a third game of the fan's choice ($125 per package). Fans should call the Carrier Dome Box Office (888-DOMETIX) for details. In addition, deposits for a group ticket package (single game, 20 or more tickets) of $150 can be placed with the Ticket Sales office (443-3212).
